In a perfect example of Technology Integration in Currilsulum, CII-Shiksha (www.shikshaindia.org) launched a collection of free resources for Class 9th in Mathemematics on 29th April 2008 at New Delhi. A six-months pilot was done with 6 schools of Delhi. Ten Mathematics teachers from these six schools participated in the pilot and worked on GeoGebra, an open source/ free software for Mathematics. The teachers created dynamic applets in Geometry and Algebra. Aorund 40 such activities have been created by the participating teachers covering major portion of 9th standard syllabus. This is the first time that the teachers have actually integrated open source in their curriculum. The resource would now be released under public domain by CII-Shiksha for use by any interested teacher or student. The resource would be hosted on Shiksha's portal, www.eshikshaindia.in

CII-Shiksha is a free initiative working towards promoting appropriate and effective use of technology for teaching-learning through its various interventions and it was under its Special Series on "Integrating Open Source in Curriculum" that this pilot project was undertaken.
