The
First Shiksha awards were for outstanding performance
under the Shiksha India Programme. Launched in 2001, the
Shiksha India Trust has been working towards introducing
and offering e-teaching tools to schools. The last two
years have seen the Shiksha India Trust increase its reach
manifold and make an impact on government schools. It was
to honour the pioneers who have helped make the Trust's
efforts, a nation-wide movement, that the Shiksha's First
National Awards on e-Excellence was organized.
