On
19th December 2007, a seminar on Primary Education was
organized by Shiksha India, jointly with Aspen Institute
and CII-Institute of Quality. The theme of the seminar was
"Right to Education: Actions Now". A limited
audience (through invitation only) attended the seminar
and had a good mix of eminent people from academia,
corporate, development sector, state govt., etc. The
keynote address was delivered by Nobel Laureate, Prof.
Amartya Sen. Also, a presentation on Shiksha was delivered
by Ms. Sharmila Dalmia, Founder- Shiksha India. About 200
people attended the seminar and got engaged in useful
brainstorming, ideas sharing on various issues of concern
for Primary Education. Based on the interaction, an Action
Plan was created at the end of the seminar. |
