If you travel to India to see the Taj Mahal in Agra, you should be prepared for crowds of tourists no matter the time of day or night. At night guards herd groups of tourists through the gates leading to the famous monument, and bright lights glare down on you as you walk toward a stone platform overlooking the grounds and peer out across the gardens toward the great building.
Once the tour groups reach this point, though, the guards will kill the lights in a carefully orchestrated show, and the moonlight will reveal the ephemeral glow of the pearly shrine. In the distance you can hear the thumping of modern music and see the city lights, but inside the gates, the Taj Mahal will appear serene and bathed in silence, evoking another time.

There are package tours in India which are custom-made for wildlife enthusiasts. India is well known for its rich diversity of plant and animal life, and wildlife tours allow nature lovers to get up close to some amazing creatures while learning more about them and their natural environments.
For example, there are many tiger safari tours available where guests have the opportunity to witness both Asiatic lions and Royal Bengal tigers in their natural habitats. The Royal Bengal tigers are most often seen in rainforest and grassland environments across India, Bangladesh, Burma, and China. The Asiatic lion is also known as the Indian lion, and it is indigenous to the Gir Forest in Gujarat, India. Other species of big cats are found in this forest as well, including the Indian leopard, clouded leopard, snow leopard and Royal Bengal tiger.
